THE operator of Hillingdon Council’s leisure centres is starting a phased reopening.
The outdoor lido at Hillingdon Sports and Leisure Complex in Uxbridge will open from today (17), while gyms, fitness classes and pools will reopen on Saturday, July 25, at Hillingdon S&L , Highgrove, Botwell Green in Hayes and Queensmead.
People will need to pre-book a one-hour time slot via Better Leisure’s app or website.
Gym equipment will be spaced to two metres, while some fitness classes will be relocated to sports halls or even, weather permitting, the open air.

Swim customers are requested to arrive 'beach ready' with their costume on under their clothes to save time and reduce pressure on change areas.
Gym and fitness class customers will be encouraged to bring their own drinking water and mat if required – and to shower and change at home.
Better Leisure members can continue to freeze their memberships, as will any members who don’t feel confident returning to the centres initially or who might have health conditions.
Keely Shelton, Partnership Manager at Better Hillingdon, said: “After nearly four months of lockdown, we are delighted to finally have the green light for reopening.”
