TWO shootings in Acton have prompted detectives to appeal for information.

Officers were alerted shortly after midnight on Tuesday (19) to an incident in Perryn Road, where they found an 18-year-old man with gunshot injuries.

He was taken to hospital, where the injuries were found not to be life-threatening.

Later that day, detectives, supported by firearms officers, searched a home in Acton.

A 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and firearms offences and is currently in custody.

The case is being linked to an earlier shooting on Sunday (17) at 9.43pm when a gun was fired in East Acton Lane.

A woman aged 42 suffered an injury to her foot and was treated in hospital.

Police have since made a second arrest and a 31-year-old man is now in custody on suspicion of the same offences.

Detectives are appealing for anyone with information about either of the offences to contact them on 101 or via Twitter @MetCC. Please quote CAD220/19May.
