A singer from Wallington is holding a Facebook live concert in a bid to raise money for Sutton Night Watch.

Karla Oaks, 35, is hosting the concert at 7 pm, on Saturday (April 18).

The 35-year-old is hoping the concert will help the organisation raise money to support the homeless in Sutton.

Since the outbreak, Sutton Night Watch has been supporting 25 to 30 people each day- and are supplying those in need with hot meals, care packages, and essential items.

Speaking on her decision to host the concert, Karla Oaks said: “It is so important to me that we help the homeless get back on their feet and give them some hope.

"This is my local community, which I care about very much.

"I want to do whatever I can to help in these difficult times."

Director of Sutton Night Watch, Lisa Brown said: “With our usual fundraising streams such as bag-packing, fetes and street stalls being completely depleted due to the lockdown, we are very grateful to Karla for this amazing offer.

"Sutton Night Watch has continued to work tirelessly to support the homeless and vulnerable.

"This includes assisting people who live on the street, sofa surfers, those in need of food and basic human comforts such as clothes and toiletries.

"We are proudly a safety net who are here to help.”
