A CAMPAIGN to help people connect with wildlife during the Covid-19 lockdown has been launched by the Herts and Middlesex Wildlife Trust.

It wants people to enjoy nature from the safety of their homes and is launching #WildAtHome to provide activities around wildlife in the garden and on the doorstep.

The campaign is aimed at everyone missing their daily dose of nature and who wants to learn more about wildlife.

Starting next Monday (30), the trust will be sharing wildlife activities, educational resources, arts and craft ideas and more for adults and children.

It will be setting weekly creative challenges for artists making available back-issues of its magazine, Wildlife Matters, to download free.

Josh Kubale, the trust’s communications manager, said: “Nature is incredibly important for our mental and physical wellbeing, particularly in times of great stress.

“Now that people can’t come to our nature reserves or go on our events, we want to bring nature to them in their own homes.

“We have a large pool of resources, which we will make available to everyone for free.”
