Watford ended a five game winless run with a sensational victory over league leaders Liverpool to lift them out of the relegation zone and give their Premier League survival hopes a boost.

Goals from Ismaila Sarr and Troy Deeney were the difference on the night, but all in a yellow and black shirt played their part in carving out the win.

Here's how we rated their individual performances.

Ben Foster - 7

The goalkeeper had surprisingly little to do in the game, but did everything well. He smothered crosses, commanded his area and made a smart stop the one time he was called upon.

Adam Masina - 8

Got up and down the line magnificently, dealt with Trent Alexander-Arnold exceptionally well and limited the number of crosses Liverpool were able to get into the box.

Craig Cathcart - 8

Kept Roberto Firmino quiet and defended set-pieces admirably. Looked solid as a rock throughout.

Christian Kabasele - 8

Gave Virgil Van Dijk absolutely no space at corners and other set-pieces and was quick to close down any whiff of an opportunity in and around the box. An imperious display.

Kiko Femenia - 8

Looked very assured on his return and helped make the right hand side much more of a threat than it was in his absence. Andy Robertson had absolutely no joy attacking against him.

Will Hughes - 8

Put in a tremendous effort and made important contributions at both ends. He was unfortunate not to find the net with a curling effort that was inadvertently blocked by Sarr.

Etienne Capoue - 8

Streets ahead of his performance at Manchester United last week. Dominated the likes of Fabinho and Gini Wijnaldum in the centre.

Abdoulaye Doucoure - 8

A reminder of everything he can offer on his day. A mature, creative and important showing from the Frenchman.

Ismaila Sarr - 9

Demonstrated exactly what Watford have been missing since he limped out of the draw with Spurs in January. Took his goals with aplomb and remained ultra-cool to provide Deeney with the assist for the third. An exemplary talent who, at the age of 21, is likely to only get better.

Gerard Deulofeu - 7

Was busy and creative during his time on the pitch, but his time was cut short when he suffered a horrible injury. Hopefully it's not as bad as is presumed, but initial signs don't look positive.

Troy Deeney - 8

Benefited from picking his battles and gave Dejan Lovren a torrid time. He was brave, held the ball up well and worked his socks off. A true captain's performance completed with a neat finish.

Roberto Pereyra - 7

Worked very hard after coming on and wasn't afraid to do his defensive duties while also getting forward.

Ignacio Pussetto - N/A

Joined the game too late to make an impact.
