Four men have been arrested after police staged another disruption operation, this time as Abbey Wood station on Thursday evening, February 27.
Met Police and British Transport Police brought out weapons arches, which scan for knives, drug detection dogs and undercover officers in a crack down on criminals.
The disruption operation, codenamed Operation Avara, saw officers conduct 17 stop and searches and make four arrests.
One adult male was arrested for immigration offences after remaining in the UK past the expiry of his visa, and another was arrested for possession of a knife.
Further arrests were made for possession of an offensive weapon in a public place, and an adult male for being wanted at Camberwell Green Magistrates Court for non payment of a court fine.
The Met has run numerous disruption operations in recent months, hitting Lewisham, North Greenwich, Maze Hill, Plumstead, Slade Green and Sidcup stations.
Run in conjunction with the BTP and train operators, officers have been seen setting weapon arches and enforcing stop and searches, with each operation resulting in multiple arrests.
