The Oswestry and Borders Extinction Rebellion group is celebrating its first anniversary with an open day on Saturday, March 7 in the Memorial Hall.
Together with successful bi-monthly Repair Café, they are taking over the whole building for the day.
The Repair Café will be in the main hall as usual from midday until 3pm. There will also be an exhibition of the work of XR and details of climate change on the bottom floor.
Upstairs there will be a series of short talks on the climate crisis and the fashion industry from midday to 3pm, storytelling for all the family at 1.30pm and 2.30pm, as well as children’s activities and a wildlife area.
From 11am, the singing group will perform around the town, to be followed after midday by the XR Samba Band.
A spokesman for the group said: “This is an excellent opportunity to experience the work Extinction Rebellion is doing to raise awareness of the climate crisis.”
