Power has been restored to homes across Watford and Bushey.

Engineers at UK Power Networks (UKPN) were made aware of an issue earlier this evening affecting people living in these areas.

Power was lost shortly before 8.30pm.

UK Power Networks put out an update on its website suggesting power would likely be restored between 10pm and 11pm.

UK Power Networks said the power was restored at 9.41pm.

The areas affected included Watford town centre, Cassiobury, Nascot, Knutsford, West Watford, Bushey, and Bushey Heath - although not all properties will have been affected.

However, trains are not stopping at Watford Junction due to the station being caught up in the power cut.

London Northwestern says road transport is being made available from other stations to Watford.

The Arriva 321 bus should be used instead of the Abbey Line.

A statement on the website earlier this evening said: "An underground electricity cable faulted on our high voltage network, causing an area wide power cut.

"We're sorry for any disruption this may be causing you.

"We estimate the power will be back on between 10pm-11pm.

"We may be able to get some customers on sooner."
