A KNIFE-WIELDING youth has admitted a spate of “terrifying” robberies and attempted robberies.
The 17-year-old, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, carried out nine offences around Dyke Road, Brighton.
It included threatening people with a knife in the street and attempting to march them to cash machines.
Hove Crown Court, pictured, was told that the youth targeted three victims in Dyke Road on November 5 and 6 last year.
Then on November 14 and 15 he committed four offences, starting at a bus stop in Eastern Road, Brighton.
He assaulted them and demanded cash and then did the same to two other victims.
Detective Constable Georgina Lake said: “These were terrifying attacks on members of the public who should have been able to go about their business without being threatened for their money.
“We hope the defendant takes this moment to reflect on his unacceptable behaviour.”
The youth pleaded guilty at court to three robberies, four attempted robberies, one count of theft and possession of cannabis.
The defendant has been remanded in youth detention and is due to be sentenced on March 19.
