The Kings Langley Players continues its 95th anniversary celebrations with a popular black comedy.

The Lieutenant of Inishmore will be brought to life from Thursday, March 5, to Saturday, March 7.

Set in Ireland in 1993, the Northern Ireland peace process is taking its faltering first steps, and INLA (Irish National Liberation Army) man Mad Padraic is hard at work pulling out the toenails of drug pusher James when the news comes through that his beloved cat, Wee Thomas, is poorly.

Padraic heads back home to the island of Inishmore. But when he arrives, he discovers Wee Thomas isn’t sick, but has been murdered.

Padraic is intent on revenge, even if that means wiping out his own father.

Director Nick Davey wanted to stage The Lieutenant of Inishmore because it’s a very challenging play for the audience, the cast and the backstage crew. He said: “I guarantee you will not forget it.”
