THE kingdom of Far Far Away is closer than you think.

For this September theatre company BCMCS will be bringing the loveable ogre, Shrek, to the Albert Halls.

Shrek the Musical will be the third show the local amateur theatre society has presented at the Albert Halls since it reopened after a multi-million pound refurbishment.

Neville Grady, secretary of BCMCS, said: "Shrek will be the most ambitious show ever produced by BCMCS. The scenery, lighting and special effects will be colourful and spectacular with specially designed costumes for all the characters in the show.

"Sister Act in 2018 followed by Oliver in 2019 were highly acclaimed, receiving comments that they were as 'good as professional theatre'."

The musical wil open on September 22 and run until September 26, and producers are looking for people who wish to get involved in the show.

Neville said: "BCMCS have announced that a Welcome Meeting will be held at Eagley Junior School, Chapeltown Road, Bromley Cross on Sunday, March 1 at 7 pm.

"More information can be obtained by emailing kathrynewilkinson@hotmail.co.uk."

He added: "There’s an exciting year ahead for all the members of BCMCS
