Plans have been put forward for a major development by a London Underground station that could provide 450 new homes across five blocks.

Transport for London (TfL) and housebuilder Barratt London hope to bring a scheme that will cover a 1.6-acre site in Wembley Park.

They are hosting public exhibitions this week to outline their plans for the new flats, half of which will be affordable when calculated by habitable room.

Jonathan Cornelius, head of property development, at TfL, said: “It is fantastic to be working with Barratt London on this opportunity to deliver hundreds of high-quality new homes in Wembley, with 50 per cent affordable housing, as well as providing a range of improvements to the area for the local community.”

If things progress, a planning application for the scheme will be assessed by Brent Council.

Cllr Shama Tatler, responsible for regeneration, property and planning, explained that local authorities always encourage developers to thoroughly engage with the community.

She said: “Such exhibitions are often an opportunity to provide feedback to the landowners and architects on their ideas, discuss the issues and help shape the plans that are eventually brought forward for consideration by the council.

“I’d encourage as many residents as possible to take part and have their say.”

The exhibitions are being held at Burrows House, Brook Avenue, Wembley today (January 29) from 4pm to 9pm and tomorrow (January 30) from 4pm to 8pm.
