A lone woman was allegedly threatened at knifepoint and then robbed Brooklands Park yesterday.

Police are investigating the allegation that a female victim in her 50s was approached by a man holding a large knife, allegedly a machete, who took her handbag before fleeing the scene.

The woman was walking along Brooklands Park in Blackheath, SE3, at around 6:20am on Thursday, January 2, when the incident occurred.

The woman did not suffer any physical injuries as a result of the robbery, but the man allegedly demanded and took her handbag and witnesses described her as "very shaken."

A witness said the woman had been robbed using a machete, and that the suspect had then driven off in a black estate car.
