A man who stabbed and killed a woman at his own home was convicted and jailed in August.

Ian Levy, 54, of Lime Court, Hendon, was sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 21 years at the Central Criminal Court after being found guilty of the murder of Elise Linda Stevens, 51.

The month also saw councillors approve a major development which would see tower blocks up to 29 storeys high will be built at a tube station.

A food trader was left out of pocket after Barnet Council wrongly ordered his trailer to be towed away and scrapped.

Around 3,000 Iranians demonstrated in central London on Saturday (July 27) at an event organised by Barnet AngloIranians, supporters of the National Council of Resistance (Government in Exile).

Hendon MP Dr Matthew Offord, whose constituency is home to the highest percentage of Anglo-Iranians in the UK, spoke at the rally and demonstrated his support for the NCRI.
