Campaigners called on their council in November to block plans to build almost 130 new homes on a London Underground station car park.

Those living close to Rayners Lane station in Harrow criticised a project led by Transport for London (TfL) to build 128 flats there, with more than 600 signatures – outlining their objections.

The schemes are scheduled to be put before Harrow Council’s planning committee early 2020.

Hundreds protested another housing development, as 195 homes were proposed to be build on land owned by a church at 265, The Ridgeway.

Susan Green, who lives ten minutes from the development, started the petition. She said: “This development is not an appropriate legacy for the site and will be utterly out of character with the surrounding area.

“Traffic is a problem as it is already a narrow road.”

Edward Popadiuc, 3, died when he fell from the fourth floor of the Bridge Court flats in Stanley Road, South Harrow, during his third birthday on November 1.

The incident happened shortly after Edward left Little Aisha Nursery, where he was celebrating his birthday.

As the nursery is located directly opposite from the flats, a staff member, Mary Da Costa, attempted CPR to try and save Edward.
