STUDENTS at ACS International School Hillingdon hosted their second Model United Nations event, with visitors from other schools joining them in taking on UN roles.
They were assigned a country and formed ‘delegations’ representing each ‘member state’.
They debated topics like the legal status of returning jihadists, threats to national stability from religious intolerance and the removal of social barriers that make women vulnerable to HIV.
Visitors included a party from from Swakeleys School for Girls.
Derek Johnson, an ACS Hillingdon teacher, who organised the event, said: “Young people see and hear about these issues on the news, but actually debating them in a UN framework truly opens minds.”
