Conservative Paul Scully has been elected as the MP for Sutton and Cheam after he won the seat with 50 per cent of the votes and a majority of 8,351.

It was declared early on Friday morning that Scully will return as Conservative MP for the constituency after he received 25,235 votes.

The Lib Dem candidate, Hina Bokhari, came in at second place on election night, receiving 16,884 votes.

This was followed by Labour's Bonnie Craven in third place with 7,200 votes, and Claire Jackson-Prior of the Green Party in fourth with 1,168.

Turnout was 70.4 per cent.
