Residents can enjoy Richmond's 'Christmas Lights-Switch On' events that are taking place throughout the Borough.
The Council received roughly £30k towards festivities as well as to help businesses and trading organisations in organising events that will help the borough become a carnival of colour, lights, music, food and fun.
Susan Shaw, Business Champion for Richmond Council, said:“The lights switch-on across the borough marks the start of the borough’s countdown to Christmas.
"They are organised by the local business associations, traders and BIDs, and many of the events have taken them months to organise.
“There is a full programme of activity planned, so I would encourage people to support their local high street and come and enjoy the festivities, and shop local.”
The Christmas light-switch on events started in November however, residents can still witness the magic at the following locations:
Barnes
Christmas Festival
Date:December 6
Time: 5pm
Kew
Sparkle, the community Christmas evening, takes place in Station Avenue/Station Parade Kew. Includes a Christmas market, street entertainers, Santa's grotto, school choirs and carousel rides.
Profits from this year's event go to the Vineyard Community Centre.

East Sheen
Sheen Christmas events – including a treasure hunt and a visit from Santa.

Time: 11am to 3pm
Ham Parade (North Ham)
The official Christmas switch on will be done at the end of the specially extended December Ham Parade market.

Twickenham (Church Street)
Church Street will be celebrating the start of the Christmas season with their Christmas Craft Fair.
The street will be pedestrianised and it is free entry:

Hampton Wick
St John's Place, Hampton Wick - start at the Library with Christmas story-telling and mulled drinks.
Then the Brass Band leads the children’s procession down to the Christmas tree where we all join in the carol singing.
