A family has paid tribute to a Russian tycoon killed in a car crash in Oxshott.

Dmitry Obretetskiy, 49, was knocked down by a car in Warren Lane in a collision involving three vehicles on November 25.

The businessman, who was reportedly a billionaire, was taken to hospital where he died on November 30.

His family said he was the "most amazing person" who "filled" their lives.

A statement released by relatives said: "Dmitry was a quiet and private man.

"We have lost a most amazing person who filled our lives.

"We thank everyone for their support at this awful time and take courage and strength from the sympathy expressed.

"We would ask people not to speculate on the circumstances of the incident, as this may impact the ongoing investigation, and it causes us additional anxiety and pain at this most difficult time."

The family have urged any witnesses of the collision to come forward and make contact with Surrey Police.

But they asked for privacy during this "painful time" as they try to "cope with this horrendous incident".

The investigation into the circumstances of the collision are on going.
