A house that is also a suspected cannabis factory was set alight in a recent fire.

Half of the ground floor and first floor of a semi-detached house on Kingsway, Wembley, burned in a fire on Tuesday (December 3).

London Fire Brigade were called at 1.59pm and the fire was put out hours later by 4.37pm.

Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters from Wembley, Willesden, Park Royal and Northolt fire stations attended the scene.

As the Fire Brigade dealt with the blaze, Metropolitan Police were called about the fire at 2.30pm.

A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: “London Fire Brigade led the response, however the property on fire is suspected to be a cannabis factory.”

London Fire Brigade also tweeted an image of the blaze after it was extinguished:

Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) are currently investigating the fire and the reports of the house being a cannabis factory.

No arrests have yet been made at this stage.
