A coroner recorded an open conclusion in an inquest into the death of a Lithuanian man whose body had been found after he went missing.

Aivaras Vasiliauskas’s body was found by Essex Police at around 3pm in Epping Road, Epping, on Thursday, May 30.

The 40-year-old, who was known around Epping Forest, Redbridge, Gants Hill, Hainault and Canning Town was reported missing on Friday, May 24.

He was described last seen wearing black trainers, blue jeans and a black sports jacket.

Essex Coroner’s Service confirmed there had been an open conclusion at the Lithuanian’s inquest on Wednesday, November 6.

This meant the jury was unable to reach any other conclusion.

At the time of his disappearance his sister Aiste Vasiliauskaite posted an appeal on Facebook shortly after he went missing.

She said: “My brother has been missing for seven days now, last seen on the morning of the 24th of May.

“Please get in touch, any information would be useful and well appreciated.”

According to on Lithuanian website 15min naujienos, Mr Vasiliauskaite was buried in east London due to his family were unable to raise enough money to transport his body home.

A translated version of the article said: “Relatives again turned to their compatriots and asked for help.

“The disaster struck unexpectedly, and relatives did not have the necessary amount for the funeral.”
