Around 80 residents attended a fish and chips lunch with entertainment organised by parish councillors.
Those who tucked into the popular English dish at the event at Roding Valley Hall, Station Way, Buckhurst Hall, was also treated to tea, cakes and bingo on Friday, November 22.
The event was organised by Buckhurst Hill Parish Council, following a successful pie and mash lunch held the previous year.
Entertainment in between food servings was provided by members of the Chigwell Row Operatic and Dramatic Society.
Parish councillor Jane Forker-Clark thanked CROADS and all the volunteers and council staff for their contribution towards making the event such a success.
Chigwell Row Operatic and Dramatic Society provided entertainment for the fish and chip diners.
Buckhurst Hill Parish Council chairman Smruti Patel also attended and welcomed everyone to the event.
She said: "This was the second successive year that the parish council has held this community event in Buckhurst Hill and we hope to put on many more different events in the future."
One resident said: "We are so grateful to the parish council for putting on such a wonderful event for us."
