A Bexley councillor has "categorically denied" accusations of sending nude photos of himself, including those showing his penis, to girls under the age of 18.

Councillor Danny Hackett, who joined Labour when he was still taking his GCSEs, quit the party in February to join the first wave of local politicians leaving in similar circumstances to MPs who joined The Independent Group in Westminster.

However, this week he has been accused of sexual misconduct and harassment by a number of women.

Aleesha tweeted a number of accusations across Twitter and the response was bigger than she could have imagined.

The 21-year-old initially posted a screen-grab of an Instagram photo of hers in which Hackett had posted 'Beautiful' underneath followed by a series of emojis.

Aleesha captioned the tweet: "Me in 2017, new to British politics: how did u become a PP- Danny Hackett:" - followed by the photo.

A couple of days later, after she had received dozens of responses from other women, Aleesha took to Twitter again and claimed that Danny Hackett had allegedly been sending sexual pictures of himself, including pictures showing his penis, to girls under the age of 18, including one 17-year-old.

Aleesha told News Shopper: "It's utterly abhorrent, and I can't believe that he's targeted so many women.

"He didn't target me much except for the creepy reply guy comments such as "beautiful", etc and trying to date me.

"It shows what kind of guy he is and how he was abusing his position as a Labour PPC."

Other allegations included, Hackett finding specific girls’ numbers and then asking them where they were staying and drunk calling them saying he wanted "to have wine and watch adult films" with them.

Since the allegations Hackett has deleted all social media accounts after blocking a number of people.

Vast numbers of people are now calling for his resignation after his “dirty and unacceptable” alleged behaviour.

In the space of a week, the amount of accusations and comments have risen significantly, whether that be women recounting their own stories of him or people who claim to have known of his alleged behaviour for a number of years.

Danny Hackett told News Shopper: "I am aware of a malicious and completely untrue series of rumours being circulated about me on the internet.

"I categorically refute any such allegations and will engage with any investigation to clear my name.

"I will make be making no further comment."
