Students are set shine at the Putney Arts Theatre this week as part of a musical performance.

The 51st State Band is part of the World Heart Beat Music Academy and will be showing its talent on November 15.

Founder and artistic director, Sahana Gero MBE said that like Bonfire Night, it has become a festive event in the Wandsworth arts calendar.

“We are delighted to be at such a charming venue once again," she said.

"Putney Arts Theatre is a jewel in our community and also has a large enough stage to host our band.

"At World Heart Beat we are delighted to be celebrating 20 years since the 51st State Band’s inception.

"The energy and joy is ever present and we look forward to bringing you a beautiful choice of music, fantastic singers, a host of incredible musicians and a truly inspiring and wonderful evening.”

A selection of jazz and film scores will be performed by more than 70 young musicians creating an upbeat musical extravaganza for all those attending.
