A MURDER investigation is underway in Uxbridge after a teenager was fatally stabbed this afternoon. 

Police were called to reports of a stabbing in the Civic Centre, where a youth of 18 was found in a critical condition

He was taken by ambulance Service to hospital where he died less than an hour later.

A second teenager suffered a stab wound to the ear. His injuries are not life threatening.

A 17-year-old youth has been arrested on suspicion of murder and taken for questioning.

DCI Noel McHugh, who will be leading the investigation, said: “This is a tragic loss of life. A young man with his whole life ahead of him has been fatally attacked.

“We need to hear from those in and around the area. Do the right thing and call police with what you heard and saw.

“Equally, if you captured footage of the incident on your mobile phone before at any point of the incident, please contact my team who are ready to take your call.”

A Section 60 stop-and -search order has been authorised in the area.
