A criminal who was sentenced to 12 years in prison for stabbing a man in the face and back is on the run from police.

Danny Vernon was sentenced at Southwark Crown Court on September 19 having been convicted of causing GBH with intent.

He was charged on November 29, 2018 with stabbing a 32-year-old man in Oxford Street on September 30, 2017. The victim of that attack was discharged from hospital, having been treated for stab wounds to his back and face, leaving him with a serious facial scar.

Having been charged, Vernon appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on December 27, 2018. He was bailed ahead of a trial at Southwark Crown Court, where he failed to appear on August 5, 2019.

Officers believe Danny Vernon knows he is wanted by police and is taking steps to avoid apprehension. He has links to the SW19 area and to Bournemouth in Dorset.
