A woman suspected of targetting elderly and vulnerable Thornton Heath residents in a spree of seventeen burglaries has been arrested.

The victims, many of whom have severe physical and mental disabilities, were targeted multiple times, with the thief taking cash, jewellery and even a TV set from their homes.

One person was burgled four times in the three week period, losing "cherished" mementos and possessions on each occasion.

A police spokesperson said: "We are currently working to try and recover any stolen items to their rightful owners, and we will contact all the victims (or their nominated representatives) in due course to update them personally as to the progress of this investigation.

"We hope to bring you more news next week on this investigation."
