Two drivers died after their cars crashed.
Police have confirmed the two people who died in a crash on Redbourn Road, St Albans last night (Wednesday, October 9) was a 72-year-old man and a 55-year-old woman.
They were pronounced dead after police and ambulance services were called to the scene at 11.45pm.
The man was driving a Mercedes Benz 350 and the woman was driving a silver Peugeot 308 convertible.
Hertfordshire police are appealing for people who saw the incident take place or saw the cars before they crashed.
Police Constable of the serious collision investigation unit Felicity Moody said: “Our thoughts are very much with the families and friends of both drivers.
“Specially trained officers are supporting them are this very difficult time.
“We are investigating what happened and as part of this would like to hear from anyone who saw the collision or who may have seen the vehicles prior to it.
“If you were in the area at the time and have a dash cam fitted, please review it and contact us with any relevant footage.”
