Volunteers from first-aid charity St John Ambulance are holding free CPR classes in Teddington as part of their ‘Restart A Heart,’ campaign.
Residents are being invited to come and join St John Ambulance on October 12, where they will be able to learn life-saving-skills within an hour.
Volunteers will be leading classes from 11.10am to 4.30pm outside Boots on Broad street in Teddington.
The first-aid-charity will be giving practical information on how to save a life.
The workshops are free and will include practical information on how to deliver CPR as well as information on how to deliver shocks to the heart with a defibrillator.
Currently, less than one in ten people in the UK survives a cardiac arrest out of hospital which is what the ‘Restart a Heart,’ campaign is hoping to change.
Chances of survival double when someone gives immediate CPR and increases further when a defibrillator is used.
