Celebrate National Fitness Day with various free activity classes.

Everyone Active is offering Harrow residents a range of activities for National Fitness Day, September 25, to help encourage people to improve their health, weight management, happiness and wellbeing.

The annual event is organised by ukactive, a non-profit body which encourages physical activity, with last year attracting more than 4,000,000 across 20,000 free events.

This year, ukactive hope to encourage even more people to get active with a host of free activities on offer, including the ones hosted by Everyone Active.

At Harrow Leisure Centre, personal training taster sessions will be held in the gym throughout the day until 8:00pm. Other activities include table tennis sessions for over 65’s from 12pm until 1pm and a bike active teen cycle session from 5:15pm until 5:45pm.

Bannister Sports Centre, Uxbridge Road, instead offers bootcamp sessions for teenagers from 5:00pm until 6:00pm and adult bootcamp sessions from 6:00pm until 7:00pm.

John Sewell, the Everyone Active contract manager, said: “National Fitness Day is a great way to remind us of the enjoyment of exercise and we hope our free sessions will encourage people to come along.

“We know that sometimes people are unsure how to get started on their fitness journey, but our teams are here to help. We have plenty of options for people to try in our gyms and fitness class studios. There really is something for everyone here.”
