The Chislehurst School for Girls has been re-awarded the International School Award by the British Council, for integrating an international dimension into its curriculum.
The award marks the school’s continual commitment to bring the world into its classrooms.
The school actively raises awareness of international perspectives in assemblies and during the school’s yearly International Day.
Sir Ciaren Devane, CEO of the British Council said: “The school’s fantastic international work has rightfully earned its prestigious award. The International School Award is a great chance for schools to demonstrate the important work they’re doing.”
The secondary school also offers international programs with their partner schools including: a Chinese exchange program, French pen pals, visits from partnering schools in Japan and language workshops for locals at Warren Road Primary School.
Headmistress, KJ Raven said the school’s international focus, “enables our young people to understand the importance of global citizenship and their role within the modern world.”
Sir Ciaren added: "By embedding an international dimension in children’s education ensures that they are truly global citizens and helps prepare them for successful lives and careers in an increasingly global economy.
