A Richmond-based art dealer and collector is set to showcase their work at Orleans House Gallery in Twickenham.

The ‘A Unique Vision: Outside and Self-Taught Art’ exhibition takes place from November 1, until February 16, and will feature a display of outsider and visionary art by Henry Boxer.

Mr Boxer said: “This year has been an important one for outsider art – with ground-breaking exhibitions at the Wellcome, William Morris Gallery and College of Psychic Studies – all of which I had loaned works to.

“I am therefore delighted to be invited to show at Orleans House Gallery once again, I hope that the art on display allows for an opening, and a discovery, of who we all truly are, beyond words, ideas and appearances."

The exhibition will also feature art created by other self-taught artists who have unique visions have been inspired by spirits and the occult.

It is also aimed at seeing the ‘dark side,’ from the artists perspective and will feature artwork from other acclaimed outsider and visionary artists like Louis Wain, Madge Gill, Donald Pass, George Widener and Stephen Wiltshire.

There will also be an opportunity to meet artists who are exhibiting for the first time like ex-prisoner, Matthew Nightingale – winner of the Koestler Award, William Hall who was homeless whilst living in Los Angeles in California and Kim Noble who lives with Multiple Personality Disorder.
