Two men have been sent to prison after admitting charges connected to four burglaries in Esher, Oxshott, and Cobham earlier this year.

On May 18, jewellery was taken from a home on Manor Road South, Esher. A week later on May 26, jewellery was taken from homes on Eaton Park Road, Cobham and Manor Way, Oxshott. Another home on Princes Drive in Oxshott was broken into on the same night, but nothing was taken.

Following enquiries, officers from Surrey Police pursued a vehicle, and two men were arrested. Jewellery was recovered from the car. On May 28, Juan Jose Salas-Alfaro, 29, of no fixed address and 25 year-old Patricio Javier Tosso-Navarro of no fixed address were charged with burglary and conspiracy to commit burglary.

On September 11 both men admitted both charges at Guildford Crown court. Juan Salas-Alfaro was sentenced to a total of four years and three months in prison. Patricio Tosso-Navarro was sentenced to three years and nine months and additionally disqualified from driving for twelve months.

Investigating officer DC Joseph Smith said: ā€œI hope these sentences provide the victims of these burglaries with some comfort to help them to move on with their lives in the knowledge that both Salas-Alfaro and Tosso-Navarro have been given custodial sentences.

ā€œIā€™d urge people to think about their home security, especially as the nights draw in. Surrey Police will always investigate thoroughly to secure a successful conviction such as this, where the circumstances of the case allow us to do so."
