The Leader of Sutton Council has issued a statement following the Worcester Park fire.
Councillor Ruth Dombey praised emergency services for the swift action.
Cllr Dombey said:" Firstly I'm relieved to see the London Fire Brigade state there are no reports of any injuries at this stage. I hope that remains the case.
“This is a terrible thing to happen and we are giving the families affected all the support we can.
"Council officers were at the scene from the early hours of this morning and remain on site.
“We coordinated efforts to ensure everybody had somewhere safe to stay and I want to thank those who offered support throughout the night.
"We'll continue to support the emergency services however we can, as well as anybody who needs our help.
"If you've been affected by the fire, in the first instance contact the council staff who remain on-site.
“Or if you do need to call please phone 020 8770 5000 when staff on a dedicated phone line will be ready to help you."
