A preliminary date has been set for the trial of a 28-year-old man accused of the murder of a Bromley teenager who died of stab wounds.

Taylor Williams, 18, died in hospital after he was found injured at an address in Basingstoke, Hampshire, on August 31.

Olamide Soyege, of Mayswood Gardens, Dagenham, Essex, has been charged with murder.

He has also been charged with robbery, conspiracy to rob and possession of a bladed article.

Soyege spoke only to confirm his date of birth and nationality as British during the hearing at Winchester Crown Court.

Paige Taylor, 23, of St Michael's Road, Basingstoke, also appeared at the hearing charged with robbery and conspiracy to rob.

The pair were remanded in custody until a plea hearing to be held on October 7 with a trial expected to start on February 24 next year.

Judge Keith Cutler told the defendants: "I adjourn this case over, we will hopefully meet again on October 7.

"If there is to be a trial, we have pencilled in a two-to-three-week slot starting February 24."

The family of Mr Williams said in a statement: "Words cannot express the way we feel about losing a much-loved son and brother.

"Taylor was a charming, loving and funny young man with a large extended family who supported him throughout his years.

"Our Taylor has been taken from us in such a heartbreaking, devastating way but our faith in God is such that we know the Lord will find a way to turn this tragic incident into something positive.

"We love you Taylor. Sleep in eternal peace."

A Hampshire Police spokesman said: "Police were called to a disturbance at 10.44pm on Saturday 31 August at an address in Shooters Way.

"Taylor John Williams, 18, from Bromley, was found at the address with stab wounds.

"He was taken to hospital where he subsequently died."
