Good morning everyone, with today being the GCSE results day, we hope everyone’s travel journeys go well. Here is the morning round-up:

Traffic

Congestion on the M40 southbound exit slip at junction J4, normal traffic conditions are expected between 06:30 and 06:45.

Traffic light failure on A4006 Kenton Road at Westfield Lane. Approach with care. The traffic lights near the petrol station have been out since last Wednesday (August 14).

Later, work to improve journeys from the M1 junction 5 at Watford, Hertfordshire will take place with drainage work across this week. The southbound exit and entry slip roads will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 5.30am, on Thursday 22 August. A clearly signed diversion for the exit slip will be in place via the M1 junction 4 and return. A clearly signed diversion for the entry slip will be in place via the M1 junction 6 and return.

No other traffic updates.

Tube

No service on Bakerloo line between Queens Park and Piccadilly Circus only, due to a signal failure at Paddington. Tickets will be accepted on London Buses via any reasonable route. Good service on the rest of the line.

No further tube delays.

Weather

It should be a hot and pleasant day today, although noticeably much cooler than the higher temperatures expected for the weekend, with sunny intervals and a cloudy streak later in the afternoon.

Temperatures expected to reach 22 degrees Celsius.
