People in St Albans are apparently less open to sex toys when compared to couples across the UK.

This is according to an interactive map by sex toy seller Lovehoney allows you to search for a city, town or county to discover how much people spend in each area in the UK.

Out of 725 locations, St Albans is ranked in the lower half, at 404 - suggesting people living there might prefer 'vanilla sex'.

Meanwhile, those living in Harpenden may be even less adventurous in bed. The town is ranked at 670.

Of all the areas in Hertfordshire, residents in Waltham Cross spend the most on their sexual pleasure.

Lovehoney product director Bonny Hall said: “Spending on sexual pleasure in Hertfordshire is above the national average.

“All our data shows that couples with great sex lives enjoy higher overall levels of happiness.

“Couples who have been in settled relationships for years are looking for new ways to spice things up and they are increasingly choosing to experiment together with sex toys for the first time.

“The map allows you to look up anywhere in the UK, so you can see how sexy your town is and compare to other locations in Hertfordshire or across the whole country.”

The figures are based on Lovehoney’s extensive data on the UK’s sexual behaviour.
