The leader of a council says a set of new parking spaces 'may be in the wrong place'.
Motorists hit out at spaces which appeared on one side of Station Road near Kings Langley station a few weeks ago.
Drivers argued the spaces could cause tailbacks due to the traffic lights at the bridge a little further up the road, that lorries approaching the bridge would struggle to turn around, and lorries could also struggle to leave a nearby yard.
Three Rivers District Council said it went through the correct procedures and the scheme had been given the all-clear by the police and the county council.
But now it appears the new spaces, which were painted by Three Rivers' contractors, may not been put in the same place plans were agreed.
Council leader Cllr Sara Bedford said: "At my first glance these spaces appear to be in the wrong place.
"I have asked that no permits be issued for these spaces and that parking be enforced there as previously, whilst we look at the effect these spaces will have on the traffic.
"If they are in the wrong place, they will have to go."
