DOGS Trust West London in Harvil Road, Harefield, is currently home to four OAPs (Old Age Pooches) hoping to prove they still have what it takes to be perfect pets.

The dogs, aged between eight and 12, might be a little older, but their lust for life has kept them looking and feeling young.

Among those looking for a home is Coca, aged 13, an affectionate and fun-loving Jack Russell who loves going out and about on adventures.

Sam, aged 11, is a border collie cross looking for a retirement home. He loves tennis balls and footballs and will entertain himself for hours! Sam has arthritis and will not need much exercise.

Lewis, aged nine, is an affectionate lurcher who loves people but has a sensitive side and prefers to say a quick hello and carry on with his business. One of this little fella's favourite things is to run after a tennis ball and carry it around like the proud man he is!

Jo Lloyd, assistant manager at Harefield, said: “Our golden oldies have amazing personalities and we would really like to see them find suitable new homes where they can enjoy their retirement years.

“Older dogs are already house-trained and easily settle into a new family home. They also tend to come with bags of character.”
