Detectives investigating the fatal stabbing of 19-year-old Kye Manning in Croydon have charged another man.

Lewis West, 18, of Waverley Gardens, NW10, was charged on Friday with grievous bodily harm, violent disorder and the possession of an offensive weapon.

He has been remanded in custody to appear at Croydon Crown Court on August 30.

Kye died at the scene in Brighton Road on July 11 shortly before 10pm.

Previously, Mason Bird, 18, of Old Lodge Lane in Purley had been charged with GBH; violent disorder and possession of an offensive weapon. He has been remanded in custody to appear at Croydon Crown Court today.

Four other men – 18, 20, 17 and 15 – have been arrested on suspicion of murder and released on bail.

Enquiries into the circumstances continue by homicide detectives from the Specialist Crime Command.
