Over 70 young people discussed key political issues and partook in social action projects as part of their volunteering programme.
Participants in the National Citizen Service (NCS) programme spent July 19 planning social action projects and participating in a question and answer session with Harrow East MP, Bob Blackman.
The programme took place at Stanmore College, where young people from the Harrow area worked on projects tackling issues including homelessness, raising awareness of bowel cancer and supporting those living with dementia.
Mr Blackman said: βIt was fascinating to hear about the social action projects that they have been working on with local community partners, which I am certain will have a hugely positive impact.β
During this time, the MP answered questions about his career and shared views on key political issues.
NCS aims to bring together diverse groups and encourage socialisation, confidence and skills.
