A search for ‘hero’ nominees celebrating amazing people, their actions and their influence is still ongoing for the Harrow Heroes awards.

Harrow Heroes, the awards ceremony by Harrow Council which recognises the kindness, courage, bravery or impact shown by someone in the community, is continuing searches for final nominee suggestions.

Individuals or teams who volunteer, mentor, or provide a selfless service to the community and create a difference to lives can gain the recognition they deserve which they perhaps are not receiving.

Nominations were open since May 31 and the deadline of July 30 is soon approaching.

Winners are selected by a panel of judges, as awards are granted in a grant ceremony in September at Kadwa Patidar Centre.

Councillor Sue Anderson, cabinet member for Community Engagement and Accessibility said: “There are thousands of unsung heroes in harrow – those people who go above and beyond to make Harrow a special place for us all to live and work.

“From everyday acts of kindness, to changing or saving lives, they sacrifice their time and energy to improve the wellbeing of others and their community. It’s true to say not all heroes wear capes- they walk among us bringing a little bit of everyday sunshine to all.”

This year, Harrow Heroes celebrates its 12th year and hundreds of nominations are expected to arrive just in time before the deadline closes.
