A person has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man in his 60s and a woman in her 70s were fatally stabbed at a house in Whitton.
Police and ambulance services attended Redfern Avenue this morning at 9.41am, where they discovered the bodies of the victims.
Detectives from the Specialist Crime Command have announced that an investigation is underway and a post-mortem examination on both victims will take place.
Following this at around 3pm, police confirmed that a 31-year-old man from Slough was arrested on suspicion of murder and was transferred to a London police station.
Although formal identification has yet to take place - officers believe they know the identity of the two victims, whose family is being supported by family liaison officers.
Chief Superintendent Sally Benatar, who leads the Met’s South West Command Unit, said: “My thoughts are with the family and friends of the two victims.
“I want to reassure members of the community that this was an isolated incident. Having arrested a man this afternoon, we are not looking for anybody else in connection with the two deaths.
“I would like to express my thanks to emergency services colleagues, including Thames Valley Police who have supported our response to this incident.”
