Community projects that make a difference in Harrow can apply for a share of a £5,000 cash pot.

Crowdfunder and Trust for London will be awarding five grants of £1,000 to schemes that strengthen voices of inequality and empower communities.

‘Connected Communities: Harrow’ is a competition to fund five projects that can provide a positive change to people in disadvantaged positions and making meaningful changes to the community of Harrow.

Five winners will be selected from the competition entrants and will be awarded £1,000 each.

Projects entering the competition must demonstrate their impact in strengthening voices to those unable to do so, provide community activities for different groups of people in order to address their needs and encourage support groups to provide advice.

Each of the five projects selected will receive an additional £1,000 worth of extra funding which helps the project set a Crowdfunder campaign, provides support and mentoring for their Crowdfunder initiative and publicises coverage in local media to help promote their Crowdfunder campaigns.

The competition entries will be open from July 15 to July 22 at midday. Successful applicants will be announced on July 26.

Crowdfunder will also be hosting workshops to update and educate community members, leaders, charities and businesses at Harrow Baptist Church, in College Road, Harrow, on July 18 from 2pm to 4pm.
