The Head Teacher of a new Dartford school were given the opportunity to celebrate their upcoming grand opening with the Prime Minister at a meeting last week.

Donna Lodge, CEO Endeavour MAT and Gavin Barnett, Head Teacher of the new Stone Lodge School attended a reception at number 10 Downing Street to celebrate the new school opening this September.

The finishing touches are falling into place for the grand opening of Stone Lodge’s brand new secondary school which is sponsored by Endeavour MAT, the Trust with responsibility for the two Wilmington Grammar Schools.

The school is opening on the site of the former Stone Lodge Farm, adjacent to the new Rugby Club and hopes to accommodate 1,450 when at full capacity.

Ms Lodge and Mr Barnett were invited to number 10 Downing Street to discuss their plans for the school.

The reception, which was hosted by the Prime Minister, was to celebrate the opening of free schools across England and was attended by the Minister for Education and other representatives from the Department for Education.

Mrs Lodge said: "We had a wonderful afternoon and it was lovely to discuss our plans for Stone Lodge School.

It is such an exciting time as we enter the count-down to our grand opening in September.”

Head teacher, Mr Barnett said; "It is a huge honour to be the launch Head Teacher of what will be an exceptional new school for local children.

"I look forward to introducing the pioneering year group to their new teachers on the Kent transition day on 4th July."
