EALING’S first clothes swap was hosted by Ealing Broadway shopping centre and the sustainable fashion campaign, #LoveNotLandfill.
Hundreds of people took a bag of unwanted clothes to the centre to exchange for new items.
A total of 383 items were recycled and saved from landfill, with 157 going to new homes and 226 donated to the Ealing Broadway clothes bank.
A clothes customisation workshop allowed children to upcycle white T-shirts using crafts and decorations.
Ealing Broadway first partnered with #LoveNotLandfill in September, when it installed a clothes bank in the centre.
Since then, shoppers have donated more than two tons of unwanted clothing, making it the most successful location for the #LoveNotLandfill campaign.
