An eagle-eyed onlooker caught the hilarious moment staff at Sainsbury's in Bexleyheath scrambled to safely catch a rogue bat which had flown into the shop last Saturday.
Gary Holland was shopping at the Bexleyheath store on June 8 and decided to chronicle the saga which ended in one staff member managing to catch the creature in a large plastic bag before releasing it into the wild.

A spokesman for Sainsbury's has since commended the employee for his quick thinking and agility in getting the animal to safety.
He said: "Incidents like this are extremely rare. We’re grateful to our quick-thinking colleagues who managed to catch the bat and allow it to leave the store unharmed."
