A GP surgery has returned to its original home following a year of refurbishment to “improve patient facilities”.

Honeypot Medical Centre, in Honeypot Lane, Stanmore, has grown to incorporate more clinical rooms and a new lift.

For the past year it had been operating out of temporary site in nearby Charlton Road and doctors said they are pleased to be back.

Partner Dr Meena Thakur said: “We are excited to welcome patients to the new look Honeypot Medical Centre and believe they will greatly benefit from our new modern facilities.”

She added the practice is committed to accommodating disabled visitors, hence the new lift alongside ramps and more disabled parking spaces.

The Charlton Medical Centre will close permanently on Friday (June 14) – patients with appointments already booked should attend the Honeypot Lane site.

Honeypot Medical Centre received a ‘good’ rating overall during its most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) in 2017.

The report noted the practice should continue to “monitor and improve patient access to services” and aim to improve patient satisfaction scores on consultations.

It is hoped these developments – such as the new prescribing and referral suits – will contribute to an all-round better service for visitors.
