Fourth generation florists have returned home to Greenwich to opening their new shop.

Teddy and Meg Betts opened their Betts Flower Shop at 5 Nelson Road, Greenwich, in 1946.

Seventy three years later, their grand-daughters and great grand-children proudly open the doors of their new family florist shop, aptly named Betts & Twine, in Greenwich Market.

In the 1940’s Greenwich Market was a wholesale fruit and vegetable market and the original Betts flower shop bucked the trend by being the first floral wholesaler outside of Covent Garden.

They thrived and Teddy Betts built quite a reputation as one of the best florists in South London.

Betts & Twine, bespoke florists, is now open at 2 Turnpin Lane, Greenwich Market and specialises in the best of both traditional and contemporary floristry for weddings, special occasions and funerals.

Granddaughters Madeline and Joanna agree: "It’s like coming home, this is where we belong and we can’t wait to bring lots of beautiful colour and fragrance into the homes of SE10."
