STUDENTS from three Southall schools took part in West London College’s Construction Challenge 2019.

Now in its third year, it asks young people to have a go at a range of trades, to motivate them to start thinking about careers in the industry.

This was the first time it was hosted at the new West London Construction Academy on Berkeley’s 88-acre Southall Waterside gasworks regeneration site.

More than 75 pupils from Year 8 at Featherstone High, Dormers Wells High and Villiers High schools were tasked to complete drainage, plumbing and brickwork.

The winning team from each school is invited to return this summer in a final for the Construction Challenge Trophy.
